What to review before approving a bag sample

Review in the order the user experiences it

Start with overall proportion and carrying comfort, then move through access, organisation and closure behaviour. Only after function is understood should you isolate cosmetic details.

Load the sample as intended. A bag can look balanced when empty and behave very differently once weight reaches the straps, base and seams.

Make feedback observable

Replace broad comments such as ‘make it more premium’ with a specific outcome: increase structure at the front panel, reduce visible topstitching, change the hardware finish or soften the edge profile.

Annotated photos and one consolidated feedback document help the sample team act without guesswork.

Freeze the approval standard

The approved sample should become part of the production reference alongside confirmed materials, colours, measurements and workmanship notes. Any later change needs to be documented rather than carried informally into bulk production.
